RESTAURANT REVIEW: Crystal Palace

Location: Magic Kingdom
Cuisine: American
Experience: Character dining, buffet
Our rating: If you have kids, don't miss it!

Crystal Palace gets mixed reviews, and I’m not really sure why. We really enjoy this place. It’s located at the end of Main Street with a full-on view of Cinderella Castle. The food is an all-you-can-eat buffet (what’s not to like about that?), and the Winnie the Pooh characters are there (Pooh, Tigger, Piglet, and Eeyore).

And really, can you beat this view???

We like buffets

The lunch and dinner buffets have all the usual stuff you’d imagine: salad bar, carving station for meats, and lots of sides. There is also, of course, a buffet set low enough that kids can help themselves with offerings like chicken nuggets and French fries. They also have pretty good desserts.

We have never been here for the breakfast buffet, though we hear it's great.

Pooh and his friends all come around to the different tables to visit while you eat, and every so often they lead a parade around the restaurant and invite kids to join in.

The decor is reminiscent of the interior of, well, a palace, with pretty chandeliers, ornate carpeting, and walls of windows. There are also topiary Pooh and friends in the entranceway, which always make for fun photo backdrops.

We went to the Crystal Palace on our honeymoon, and it’s become a tradition. We book lunch here on every trip. Just remember that advanced reservations are a must at this place – everybody wants in, and you’ll be waiting for hours without a reservation!
